Madness "Classy"

One of Ozone's finest does it again. Real classy though. Shouts to Madness of Critical Madness (shouts to cRITICAL too, btw) for dropping this video!

NIGHTLIGHT

Free EP: IMAKEMADBEATS - Nightlight EP

Producer IMAKEMADBEATS Releases Second Half of Daylight/Nightlight Dual-EP

The EP:

Producer IMAKEMADBEATS is back again with the release of the free EP Nightlight as the second half of his dual-EP concept album Daylight/Nightlight. Daylight/Nightlight takes a multifaceted look at the highs and lows of life, evident through the stories delivered by collaborators Butta Verses, the lyricist behind the Daylight EP, and Nightlight emcee MidaZ The Beast, most recently heard on his last mixtape The El MidaZ Affair and as a guest on Alchemist’s GTA: Chinatown Wars Gangrene Mix. While the two EPs are being released separately in a radio edited digital format, IMAKEMADBEATS and Doxside Music Group will later release both for sale together in an unedited physical format.

Nightlight finds MidaZ delving into the darkest corners of the mind with ferocious vigor. As IMAKEMADBEATS’ partner-in-crime in the grimy duo known as BlakOut, MidaZ masterfully manipulates words in the same style that has helped build his reputation in underground circles as a force to be reckoned with. IMAKEMADBEATS completely flips his style on this half of the project, providing MidaZ with tense, hard-hitting beats to vent over – musical beds that fit the edgy tone set throughout the EP. Songs like "Subliminal Diss" and "Word Of Mouth" capture the Nightlight theme, exploring unfiltered angst, while previous single "Flyers" features MidaZ taking shots at lazy and incompetent show promoters.

On January 18, 2011 IMAKEMADBEATS will drop his self-titled solo debut, featuring Black Milk, Von Pea of Tanya Morgan, Butta Verses, Hezekiah, and more on Doxside Music Group.

IMAKEMADBEATS +MIDAZ = BLAKOUT "FLYERS"

The Song:

In the latest single to come from IMAKEMADBEATS' innovative dual-EP Daylight/Nightlight, IMMB enlists the lyrical styling of MidaZ The Beast to form the duo Blakout and take us into Nightlight. A stark contrast in both name and style to the Daylight side of the EP, "Flyers," the first single from Nightlight, is chock full of angry rhymes over a "venomous soundscape," as IMAKEMADBEATS calls it.

Taking aim at the darker side of life MidaZ spits about a lack of respect from promoters and all hip-hop heads in general, delivering his rant with palpable emotion, with the song's title and repeating chorus serving as the main focal point for the emcee. "I’ll never forget Method Man’s 'Torture,' says IMAKEMADBEATS, speaking on the inspiration for the song's subject matter. "In it, he said, 'Say what you like, just spell my name right.' This song is dedicated to people who don’t respect you enough to spell your name right."

Nightlight, in its edited form, will be available for free download next week. Daylight/Nightlight will be available in its full, unedited form for sale as a physical release in the near future.

The Podcast:

Iconocastic has returned to bring your ears a pre-Thanksgiving feast. A group track from Focusrounds out this installment, and his "Homage To Ali Shaheed features a host of familiar faces including Von Pea, Donwill, and Chaundon. We're sure this mix will keep you full until the real Thanksgiving, but stay tuned for the next Iconocastic podcast.

After much anticipation the Orlando (Ozone) super group Vets Of Kin (AMiAM, MyGrane McNastee, Murdoc, Shinobi Stalin, JBiz, Unique Assassin, Tone Blare, P!, Word Chemist, Clarity, and John Z. Delorean) has finally released "Pestilence", in association with The Civil Mics Movement and Domination Recordings. This is a compilation of unreleased material spanning from 2006 to the present. Most of the production was handled by the Vets while JuniAli, DJ Trax, The KickDrums, Dark Horse, and N.O.T.E filled in the blanks. This project is a collection of raw lyricism, Dope beats, and a posse cut atmosphere. Nothing more, nothing less.

MP3:"How Is Your Soul" f. Butta Verses and Reverend TZ

IMAKEMADBEATS Returns With New Track From Dual-EP, Preps Solo Debut

DOWNLOAD: IMAKEMADBEATS feat. Butta Verses & Reverend TZ - How Is Your Soul

The Song:

Producer
IMAKEMADBEATS is at it once again. On the new track, "How Is Your Soul," from the forthcoming dual-EP concept album Daylight/Nightlight, the beat-maker enlists rapperButta Verses to lend his emcee-skills. The EP, which is the first music the producer has released since 2009's The Transcontinental, his collaborative project with Roc C, is in preparation for his self-titled debut on Doxside Music Group, set for release in early 2011. Though the nature of the collaborations may differ, still present is IMAKEMADBEATS' scientific approach to music, with every detail and nuance carefully thought out and in its rightful place.

Though the song features a relatively lighthearted cameo from
TzariZM as "Reverend TZ," the subject matter is decidedly more introspective. "We wanted to just let them know how we felt about ourselves," IMAKEMADBEATS explains. Lines like "I'm gonna search for the truth 'till I find what I'm lookin' for / Everything I've found so far just make me look more," over an organ-heavy beat and the words of the aforementioned "Reverend," carry a message without preaching an agenda. "How Is Your Soul" is about asking questions and the result is a startlingly personal first look into IMAKEMADBEATS' newest project.

The Making of the "Let You Go" Single cover

Most of the people that have approached me with comments regarding the cover art/photography for my latest single "Let You Go" featuring MidaZ, Frukwan, J Freedome, and Kinetic 9 have all thought that I found this picture somewhere searching through Google. Then, that I photoshopped it to suit the title of the song. Actually, it was all a real, planned out, serious photo shoot with photographer Relz (www.Relzlife.com) behind the camera. Feel free to click on any of the pics to get a bigger/better view of them. Detailed stuff.

I hit up Relz and told him I wanted a cover for the single relating to the title of it. Him and J Freedome had a couple of conversations, and within a couple of days they had a photo shoot planned out. Something about a corporate looking guy at the mercy of someone not so suburban....I said "well....ok...i gotta see that...hmmm...well...hmmm." I honestly didn't expect anything like what came out, which looks like the cover of an action film on DVD. But then seeing how they did it made me appreciate it even more.
A friend of Relz's by the name of Dan Granner came through to play the corporate guy. Its funny looking at the photo above, and seeing how he really wasn't hanging at all.
Damn. Shouts to Dan Granner, cuz that looks like that could hurt. After the photoshoot, I needed someone good at text/font placement. I hit up twitter and straight up asked, "Yo, anyone good at text in photoshop?" I hate using photoshop, by the way. My man Marink, who I met at Fatbeats on tour last year with Roc C, said he would give it a try. Within minutes the cover was done.

Nas Ain't Goin Out

Gotta appreciate how much the Human Serviette just doesn't care. Also gotta appreciate how serious Nas is. I think this is one of the few, if not the only, time i've seen an artist actually make the Nard-man fall back a bit.

Flying Lotus

Gotta Love It. Word.
