STYLIN ON EM.

After being smashed in the face on camera... The creator of "STYLIN ON EM", Nyckz, hit me up on myspace as if I'm supposed to be making fun of him. He proceeds to say we are biting his sh*t. I'm like, man, did you notice we are MAKING FUN of you. lol. THIS AINT SERIOUS. lol.

I told him to "Sit yo ass down" like angry man from MARTIN...

and now years later..i will spread the laughter again.

The Promo Video:

After being hit up by the most famous rapper NYCKZ, when then decided to make our own parody version of being styled on. There are even references to Afro Samurai in it, randomly, lol. I have no idea what we were thinking. I was still in college in Long Island. Shout out to the Long Island Railroad and my man Greg Jackson aka Liggy J. Keep in mind none of this was serious...all in the name of having fun.

Critical Madness Album Sampler:

About the release: Critical Madness (cRITICAL + Madness) is the combination of 2 legendary battle vets who originally met in the orlando hip-hop scene and eventually partnered up after competing for the same crown in the final round of numerous open mic freestyle tournaments. What started as a couple of CM tracks has now manifested into their debut album "Bringing Out The Dead", released through Domination Recordings which features collaborations with Slaughterhouse front man Joell Ortiz as well as Sabac Red, Young Zee, long-time collaborator Little Vic and others. Covering the production side, TEMPERMENTAL produced the bulk of the LP with TzariZM adding his own brand of sickness to the stew. Marco Polo and DC the MIDI alien also contributed to the soon-to-be classic. "BOTD" covers everything from the politics down to pornography using clever lyricism & unique wordplay over infectious melodies laced with some boom bap. It is the experience of a lifetime and gives a slight peek into the influences that created this mind bending duo.

Return With A Mask On DIGI-SINGLE and CONTEST

Press Release:

"IMAKEMADBEATS drops free digi-single and offers fans a chance to rap on his forthcoming album on Culture Kings Music.

Head-nod maestro IMAKEMADBEATS continues his neck-breaking assault of dopeness with his latest single, “Return With a Mask On.” Featuring MidaZ the Beast (Alchemist’s Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars “Gangrene Mix”) and J.Freedome over a frenetic banger selected from one of the producer’s 2000+ beats, the song offers parallel stories of the stress and anger that causes people to retreat behind their ‘masks’ – and return with a vengeance.

And now IMAKEMADBEATS is giving listeners a chance to tell their own stories. Using the instrumental version of the song included in the free digi-single, fans can record their own verses about when they had to ‘return with a mask on.’ All entries will be posted on the IMAKEMADBEATS bandcamp page for fans to listen to.

IMMB will select one of the submissions to appear on the bonus version of “Return With a Mask On,” from his up-coming IMAKEMADBEATS album, featuring Black Milk, Steele of Smif n Wesson, Von Pea (Tanya Morgan), Hezekiah, and more. The winner will also receive a an IMMB t-shirt and the Japanese import version of IMMB and Roc C’s The Transcontinental, featuring Oh No, Rapper Big Pooh, Chino XL, Wildchild, and more. All submissions can be sent to dammitmgmt@gmail.com.

“Return With a Mask On” serves as a placeholder to keep fans satiated for the slew of projects that all three artists have on deck for 2010. MidaZ is set to release a free conceptual mixtape withwww.potholesinmyblog.com called El Midaz Affair (featuring the music of El Michels Affair) in January. J. Freedome will be heavily featured on IMAKEMADBEATS’s upcoming debut album,IMAKEMADBEATS (Culture Kings Music). Additionally, IMAKEMADBEATS will also be releasing the Daylight/Nightlight split-EP, featuring Butta Verses (De La Soul’s The Grind Date) and MidaZ the Beast."

F*CK the USPS.

THIS IS A LONG STORY.

So...this story starts just under a month ago. I'm getting a new screen for my MPC shipped to me from Toronto, Canada. On Nov 17th, the tracking shows that it reached Brooklyn, NY. Great, right? WRONG. I didn't get a package that day. The next day, nothing. I call the Post Office, and give them my tracking number. They tell me, "yes we have your package, would you like to pick it up?" I respond with "YES I will be there within the hour. thx!" I hit the train to go to the post office, get there, and they tell me "we don't have your package, we never did." The manager there tells me to call him tommorow morning to further track the package. I call the next day, they tell me they have no idea where the package is. I then call the 1800 number for the USPS. They track the package back to that same Post Office.

Now...this is one week before I drive to Memphis, TN. I'll be in Memphis for a while. So I'm really trying to get this situation solved. For the entire next week, the USPS has no idea, even with a tracking number, where the package is. The day TzaR, Marie, and myself leave NY in my car on a 17 hour journey to Memphis is the day I get an email telling me they tried to deliver my package and a notice was left. The package had been in NY for a week and no one could tell me where it was, until the day I leave NY. Great. I called the post office and told them the entire story. 1 representative was telling me it had been sent back to Toronto, while another was telling me they didnt know what post office it was at. I'm telling them "LOOK AT THE TRACKING NUMBER. ITS AT THE FARRAGUT POST OFFICE. HOW could it be back in Toronto, YOU JUST sent me a notice saying u tried to deliver it to the old address ONE HOUR AGO." I wanted to say "Its at the FARRAGUT POST OFFICE, YOU BITCH" but then I know I would have never got my screen.

After getting someone on the phone who had half a brain, they tell me that the package is "oh that package? yeah thats right downstairs" I asked if I could have someone pick up the package for me. No. Can they send it to me in Memphis? "You have to mail in some paper work" So wait...You fucked up, and keep fuckin up, and I gotta MAIL YOU something, which will take a week, or never reach you at all thanks to YOUR OWN SERVICE INCOMPETENCE. After convincing the manager there to let me fax him some information, he said he'd forward my package to Memphis, TN. A day later, he tells me that the package had been shipped off to Memphis and I should get it within 3 business days. Ok cool.Today was the day I was expecting it........

About an hour or so ago, I get a phone call from my brother TzaR's phone. It was Liz aka @Msphenomenal407. She's telling me she has something of mine that is very important. Turns out, TZ went to my old crib to get some stuff I left behind, and there was my package...just chillin. The delivery date was early last week.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok. WHY DID THE USPS tell me it was being DELIVERED TO MEMPHIS? DO THEY KNOW WHAT THE FUCK THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT ?????????????????????????????? THEY PLAYING GAMES!!!! You lose my screen, then say you found it a week later, give me a hard time about getting it redelivered, say it was redelivered, and it never was!!! YOU DIDNT EVEN HAVE IT TO REDELIVER IT!!!!!!

Stuff like this gets people *********.

So I'm gonna put his name out there. BRIAN FRAZIER at the FARRAGUT USPS station in BROOKLYN...on UTICA AVE. This is the lying bastard. If you see him there, and then later see him walking down the street, don't hesitate to ************, *******, or ********* at him. Let it all out, in the name of IMAKEMADBEATS.

By the way. I still have his fax number. I will fax him a direct link to this page. So if your reading this, Brian, FUCK YOU. You had a smartass mouth on the phone and didn't even know what the fuk you were talking about. This is why the USPS has less than 5 years until it goes out of business.

Old Stuff I Found....and New Stuff to Come

So..this post is really random. I was going through random mp3s on my computer and found a lot of funny things. One of them being me showing off the Micro Korg vocoder to my cousin Synopse, sometime around 2004. Days after this, I used this vocoder to make the beat for "All Im Askin" on the Transcontinental album released this year.

So Hezekiah let me hear his addition to the IMAKEMADBEATS album dropping on Culture Kings/Domination Recordings. I'm mad hype. Definitely put the cherry on top of the project. I met Hezekiah setting up last years Smash Mouf tour with Roc C and Oh No. Good dude all around. Shouts to Hustle Simmons and all my Philly area heads.
I WISH i could post a snippet of it for you all to hear...

For those that don't know...

About
Airing on Thursday nights/Friday mornings from 1:00-5:00am, Squeeze Radio is the place to listen to hip-hop in New York City. In its original incarnation, DJ Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito aka DJ Cucumberslice co-hosted the Stretch & Bobbito Show. In the early 1990s the show was voted “the best hip-hop show of all time” by Source Magazine and “the best hip-hop show in New York” by the Village Voice. Today, Squeeze Radio is hosted by SUCIO SMASH. The show was voted best Hip Hop Show in New York by Time Out New York magazine.

Lets Fly Away.....

So, I don't know if you would call this hip hop or not. I made it with vocalist Mylodic in the studio circa April of this year. We wanted to make something that sounded like how we felt when we surrounded the hookah. Shout out to my hookah heads. Before I tried it I thought it was crack, lol, until my Ethiopian sister IMAN and college homies MDot Coop and Greg Jackson convinced me otherwise. Exclusive download...

OLD BEATS

IF YOU HAVE NO BASS IN YOUR SPEAKERS...LEAVE NOW.
In alot of my older stuff..the bassline was the main attraction..lol.

So, I uploaded some old beats. They are in the Reverbnation Audio player to the right. I probably won't leave them up for more than 72 hours. Some of these are old, others are old and are joints i feel like would never surface because I made them for me, not necessarily for a rapper. I think every producer has those beats..
Heres a brief story about them...
feel free to leave comments in the CBOX to the right.

Dont Say Nuthin.
I did this about 3-4 days after this single dropped and i got the acapella off the record. I still like this, I think.

Rockey Joint
I made this before I moved to NY, so around 04 I think. I could always see MOP on it. Maybe i should remake it.

303 Hard Rock TZ Instrumental
I made this as soon as I got my 303. I think 05. Tzsr did a song on it. I wont leave this up long, so when TZ releases it, it'll still be new.

Straight Pete
Ha...05. Definitely sounds like Pete to me. I think thats a Rasco Acapella i cut in...

Straight DEE
Definitely One of the hundreds of my easily influenced by Jay Dee beats..lol
No need to even try to hide it. Dilla dog all day. 04 for sure.

S2000 Akai.
Early 2004. Still livin in Tzars living room..lol. Just got the S2000 Rack sampler and was testing it out.

Discovered Synths!!
Ha...I didnt have any sample records when i did this...was really just messin around..came out kinda funked out. This beat is funny to me...I'd rap on it tho!!lol.

Steele n Yuk n Relz
So 05/06 Im an intern at Quad studios and Im recordn my homey Relz. He brings in Steele of Smif n Wessun and Yuk. They need beats..i got this old beat on me from 04. Steele gets maaaaddd hype listenin to it. The rest is history.

Way Back Into Time
Me, Mdotcoop and the homey Liggy J used to freestyle to this in my college dorm. 06 i think.

Listen Love
Shuggie Otis sample. I just like this beat. Still. 04 i think.

SP12 Turbo Eclipse
Straight Sampled everything thru the SP. You can hear it in the piano...

NONE of these beats were on an MPC.

Interested in anything something? send me an email...

Swamburger & Optiks – “Woe Is Not Me”

From Potholes In My Blog:

Last week we hit you with “Let’s Go” by IMAKEMADBEATS and Emilio Rojas off the forthcoming The Ozone, which showcases the underground hip hop scene of Orlando, FL and is hitting the interwebs October 20. Here’s one more treat to hold you over:

Swamburger is ¼ of Anti-/Epitaph group Solillaquists of Sound. Optiks is the 2008 Scribble Jam Producer Battle Champion who recently produced the bulk of Blitz the Ambassador’s widely-acclaimed Stereotype. “Woe Is Not Me” is the ridiculously dope result of their collaboration.

If you don’t have this song stuck in your head for weeks, we’ll give you a free download of The Ozone on October 20. And if you do? Then you’ll probably still want to download the mixtape for free when it drops on October 20. Enjoy…

Introducing: The 3 Wisemen

I'm a younger brother. Not just to my blood brothers, but to a whole crew. I started doing music as part of a group of rappers and producers called The Paradox Unit. I was still in high school in Memphis,TN, meanwhile my older brother TzarizM and older first cousin Synopse, both emcees and producers, were in college in OZONE (Orlando) FL. They pretty much made it hard for me (and a lot of others) get any shine in the local scene, with Synopse producing what became the longest running no. 1 song in the underground radio countdown, and TzarizM winning/murdering every lucrative battle within a 100 mile radius. Surrounding the two were a crew of lyrical mercenaries...which I will gladly name a bit later. After getting sent back to the drawing board by the two beatsmiths what seemed like 1904 times, Syn came with the idea of calling ourselves "The 3 Wisemen," because we were the main producers of what most would say is a large crew.

In 2009, the trio returns. Allow us to reintroduce ourselves.
_______________________________________________________
SYNOPSE

The founder of the Paradox Unit. 1/2 of Snakeyes (Shout out to J Freedome). 1/3 of The 3 Wisemen.
The first of the 3 to explore the realm of production. He introduced a now ancient computer program called Digital Orchestrator Plus to his peers. Apparently he saw an ad for it in a magazine. It was mainly designed for Midi manipulation, but Syn transformed it into multi-track recorder. Of course, years later, the producers branched out, using tools each felt leaned more towards their style. In the first half of this decade, Synopse produced "SPIRIT," a song that took the Ozone by storm and introduced a new lineup of emcees to the world. It opened many doors for everyone involved, including myself.
He offers his new single "Do You Remember" from his upcoming album
Magic Box. He will soon be celebrating "The 10 Year Anniversary of the Album That Never Dropped," an album titled ANLAC that was obviously produced and recorded a decade ago. Until that, and his new album drop, enjoy this single.

TZARIZM

1/2 of Strangaz Productions. 1/2 of The Heart and Brain. Ujempire Delegate. 1/3 of The 3 Wisemen.
Tzarizm has reigned supreme in several facets of this Hip-hop. Starting off as a feared battle rapper/freestyler, TZ attracted crowds all across central Florida. He then showcased his ability to produce and write actual songs, performing them across the southeast and becoming a highly sought after artist. He dropped the highly anticipated solo album "Dirty Work" in 2003 featuring some of Ozone's best.
He offers a new single from Close 2 Home, a collaboration with emcee cRITICAL from Critical Madness. Tzarizm has several projects slated for release, including an album under the group name The Heart and Brain (partnered with fellow UJE rapper Vis Major) titled Embodiment,an instrumental album, a solo EP from Tzarizm, other project collaborations with emcees Little Vic and Dynas, and of course, Close 2 Home with cRITICAL. Anyone who knows me should know or get to know these guys. I look forward to working with these guys in some form for the rest of my career, and we are just getting started. Listen now, before you catch on too late and everybody laughs at you.

From Domination Recordings:

Now available for free download is "The Problem" EP from Grey Matter. The EP features 6 tracks taken from the upcoming debut album coming soon on Domination Recordings.

About the artist: Grey Matter consists of Illustrate and TEMPERMENTAL. One MC and one Producer. The group formed in 2001 in Orlando (Ozone), Florida and soon after they released their first single on vinyl "No Question b/c The Problem". It achieved regular rotation on college radio and was picked up by "Music Choice" for the cable TV hip-hop channel. In 2007, they completed a 40 city US tour with the very talented Solillaquists of Sound. They are currently working on music and performing. The FIRST Issue of "IMMB Presents: REALASS PEOPLE- ILLMIND"

Ok. So I mentioned this on Twitter not too long ago, and felt like, hey, let me jus go ahead and throw this out there. I have been pondering the idea/concept of these posts for a while now. Introduction....

IMMB (some people call him NeMo) Presents: REALASS PEOPLE

This segment of my blog will be dedicated to those people I have come across in the industry that I deemed "REALASS PEOPLE." Thats a hard thing to find nowadays. I engineered at Quad Studios for years, and have been freelancing here and there through out NYC for a while.Whether it was production or engineering, I've met some of your favorites, and some of your most hated. Through both categories, REALASS PEOPLE are just hard to find man. So, without further ado, let's get started.

FIRST UP: REALASS PERSON/PRODUCER ILLMIND.

Back when I used to live in Orlando, FL, my UJE crew and I used to drive to Tampa every now and then for shows and to "build" with other FL heads. Long story short,In 2001-02 I met a guy named Slopfunkdust there, and passed him a mix cd I put together of joints I produced with my brother TzaR. He hit me not too long later and saying he liked the stuff, and shortly after introduced me to his friend Illmind. Later,we were working on remixing Akrobatik's latest album, Illmind hit me up and told me he heard my remix, told me he thought it was dope and he wanted to hear more.
Years ago, when I moved to NYC, within the first couple of months I ventured out to a Beatsociety at the Knitting Factory. It was me, Dynas, Slop, and Illmind chillin' outside the spot in the line. Nobody knew who I was really, but Illmind introduced me to what seemed like 39 people. All people i probably should have kept stayed in contact with...ha. Later that night, after mean muggin' in the crowd with Jony Fraze, I couldn't even find where i parked my whip!! Illmind drove me around the area for like 30 minutes to find my car...lol. He offered! I didn't ask. Good people.
Months later... on AIM Illmind hits me saying that he's going to be doing a beat showcase in the Manhattan, and that I can bring out my ASR-10 disks and rock off his beat machine if I wanted to. WORD? are u serious? I mean... it's intimidating rocking next to ILLMIND, but i gotta do it!! Nothing but good positive vibes from the homey. Not once did i get a vibe of "yo, I'm ILLMIND... and your not" from him. And still don't. I don't think anyone does. It's not about the fact that he was willing to help me out necessarily, because anyone will help someone out if they feel its somehow mutually beneficial, but more so that, really, who was I? He didn't have to invite me to rock with him. I was a really quiet person, and still am sometimes, so it wasn't that i was subliminally saying "Yo Illmind, put me on son!" I just played my position, as I still do. Good People. REALASS people. You don't forget stuff like that, however small it may be in the bigger scheme of things. I wish nothing but the best for the homey.
Obviously it takes more than a couple of occurrences to be branded a REALASS PERSON, but I think you can get the picture I am painting of my dealings with the Illmind.

Signing out, till next time... REALASS PEOPLE will continue. I got some surprises for yall.

MidaZ - King

From Domination Recordings:

About MidaZ: There are rappers and there are emcees, but there is only one beast in hip hop, and his name is MidaZ. Repping the Ozone in Orlando, FL, MidaZ's brash delivery, intricate wordplay, and uninhibited personality on the mic have earned him a reputation in hip hop's underground, granting him a reputation that harkens back to days long before 'swag' was a prerequisite for artists.

Aside from his output as one-half of hip hop duo BlakOut (with producer NeMo AKA IMAKEMADBEATS), listeners have heard MidaZ from his slew of mixtape projects, including "Ozone's Finest" with Pete Rock, "Beast Wars", and "Grandmasters: DJ Muggs Vs. MidaZ". He's appeared on records with Blue Sky Black Death, Sabac Red (Non-Phixion), and was most recently tapped by Alchemist to appear on his "Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars"
"Gangrene Mix" alongside Oh No, Phat Kat, Royce Da 5'9, Sean Price, Medafor, Roc C, Chino XL, MarvWon, Guilty Simpson, and Evidence.

Since last fall's Smash Mouf Tour with IMAKEMADBEATS, Roc C, Oh No, and Chino XL, MidaZ has been hard at work on a slew of upcoming projects, including his next collaborative mixtape "The El Midaz Affair" (with El Michels Affair), his "Trilogy" project with Beretta 9 and IMAKEMADBEATS, and his official solo debut, "Au". To hold listeners over, MidaZ is dropping a series of freestyles that allow him to go into strict 'beast mode'. This week's freestyle is over the late, great J. Dilla's "King" beat from the recently released Jay Stays Paid.

J. Freedome and IMAKEMADBEATS - Much Nicer ft. Butta Verses + HOUSE SHOES SPEAKS ON CHARLES HAMILTON!!

From Coalmine:

IMAKEMADBEATS, producer of the critically acclaimed album The Transcontinental (a collaboration with California rapper Roc 'C' of Stones Throw fame), continues his recent campaign of quality music for the true aficionados. This time, he brings Toronto emcee J. Freedome (formerly known as Felony and also featured on The Transcontinental), and the De La Soul protege Butta Verses along for the ride to bring you "Much Nicer." Filled with melodic harps, jazzy horns and bass, IMAKEMADBEATS delivers a classic sound, giving the raspy voiced J. Freedome and the always vocally sharp Butta Verses the backbone to create something 'much nicer'...

New: ROC C featuring Fredro Starr of Onyx and SHOUTS to DJ PROFILE

Press Release:

"Fans of West Coast underground hip-hop know Roc ‘C’ for his stellar debut mic appearance on the 2004 Oh No single “Move Pt. 2,” produced by J Dilla. Roc’s stand-out verse and cameo in the song’s video generated quite a buzz, leading to his own solo deal with Peanut Butter Wolf’s Stones Throw Records. Roc has made a lot of noise right out the gate.

Roc 'C' returns with a new song for the hustler's, "Hustler's Theme," featuring veteran Queens rapper/ Moesha actor Fredro Starr of Onyx and produced by the upcoming "madman turned producer" IMAKEMADBEATS.
